Welcome to Mrs. Poulsen’s web page!
This year starts my 29th year teaching health and physical education in Baltimore County Public Schools. This is my 24th year teaching physical education at Edgemere Elementary School. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Frostburg State University and received my master’s degree from Loyola University. I have taught at health and physical education at all grade levels Pre-K- 12th grade. I enjoy teaching at the elementary level the most.
I have been married for 25 years and have 2 sons. Both of my sons currently are in college. I spend majority of my spare time watching them play college sports. I enjoy playing golf, spending as much time as possible at the beach or at home at my pool with my husband and our two dogs. I am a huge Ravens, Orioles and Washington Capitals fan.
My teacher vision is to create and atmosphere in my class that is interesting, fun, and enjoyable to my students. My students will be introduced to a variety of skills and activities that can continue to perfect and play for a life time. With these activities it will encourage them to be physically active and healthy for a life time.
This school year I have planned a variety of physical education units to teach that will excite the students to participate in individually, with partners, teams and large group activities and games. I am excited for a fun fit year with the children.
