a career and a
passion come together”
All About Me
To say
that I love teaching is an understatement.
It has been my pleasure to work as an educator for 10 years. I was an inclusion special educator for 5
years in Harford County, worked as a CIA specialist for Kennedy Krieger for 1
year and then, joined the Edgemere family 5 years years ago as an inclusion special educator. From there I took on the IGE-3 program for 2 years which was a rewarding experience. I then moved on to teach 1st and 3rd grade Math and Content before landing in 2nd grade last year. My journey at Edgemere has never been very exciting.
I
graduated from Towson University with a major in Sociology and minor in
Anthropology. I returned to school
shortly after graduation to receive my Masters in Education. I have certification in Early Childhood,
Elementary Education, and Special Education.
I have a very supportive and inspiring family. My youngest child Lennon attends Edgemere and is in the 5th grade. My daughter Grace is in 7th at Sparrows Point and my oldest son Dylan is working full time and is pursuing a certification in personal fitness. My husband, Jim loves to visit on his days off and help in the classroom. They are all part of my think tank for "classroom adventures."
Some of personal interest include recycled art and painting. I love visiting art museums and going to festivals to gather ideas. I also enjoy Yoga, Pilates, hiking, and running. I enjoy gardening and spoiling my pets. I have two dogs, two guinea pigs, fish, and a potbellied pig.
"As
a teacher, my goal is to make every experience authentic and purposeful in
order to foster a love for learning."
