Mrs. Davis

Hello My Name Is...
Mrs. Trisha Davis

trisha davis

This is my 22nd  year teaching for Baltimore County Public School and my 9th year at Edgemere Elementary School.  I graduated from Towson University with both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Early Childhood Education. I love to read in my free time and enjoy reading lots of fun stories to the children.  You will hear a lot about some of my favorite characters such as Pete the Cat and Piggie and Elephant!

My goal for this school year is for your child to enjoy coming to school and for them to come home everyday with a smile on their face.  Of course, we will be learning our letters and sounds as well!

I am always available to speak with parents if you should have any questions or concerns.  I can be reached at 410-887-7507 or by email at tdavis11@bcps.org. Keep up to date on all the exciting events going on at Edgemere by visiting my useful links page.  Feel free to send our school a tweet @Edgemere_BCPS

Welcome to Pre-K!
I am very excited to work with you and your child this school year.  I have a fun school year planned.

During the first quarter of our reading program, called DLM, we will be learning the letter names and sounds for the Aa, Dd, Mm and Ss . As we learn a letter sound, we will be singing a song and doing an action.  All of letter cards and songs will go home so that you can practice. We will also be reading sight words all school year long. Our words for the first  quarter will be my, the, and, a and in. As we practice our sight words, we will use our sight word readers. Once we  have practiced at school, the readers will be sent home for you to practice with your child at home. In addition, we will be learning the letters in our first name.  You can help us at home by having your child practice saying the letters in their name.  If they would like to, the children can practice writing their first name with one capital letter and the rest lower case.

Math is fun!  We will begin the first quarter by reviewing colors.  We will then move on to shapes and positional words. At home, you can practice locating objects of different shapes.  How many squares, circles, etc. can you find?  We will also spend a lot of time counting.  Our goal for the first quarter is to count up to 10!!

Let's bring on the fun in Pre-K!!
