Edgemere students and staff are helping to meet the needs of others in
many ways. Recently our second grade students participated in a
Bowl-a-thon to support the Children's Cancer Foundation. The
students received pledges and then bowled their way to over $6,700 for
the Foundation, WOW! Although the fundraiser is over, you can
still donate and help these children at
www.childrenscancerfoundation.org/. Another worthy cause is the Special Olympics of Maryland. To help raise funds for this group, two of our teachers participated in the Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge (Click for Pictures) on Saturday, January 28th. First grade teacher Lindsay Urbaniak and art teacher Greg Flach both braved the cold water of the Chesapeake Bay at Sandy Point State Park.
